Our Activities

The Philippine Association of  Printmakers  is one of the oldest art groups in the  Philippines.  As part of the PAP’s mission of  bringing art to the masses and propagating the development of printmaking, the organization aims to  (re)introduce  printmaking as a medium significant for  interdisciplinary art practice.


 

Exhibitions

 

 The PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF PRINTMAKERS (PAP)  continually mount   exhibitions that showcases contmeporary approaches to printmaking.  The organization always try to include  various artists  who have made significant contributions to printmaking or defined new directions in contemporary art practices related to this graphic medium.

      

                       

Studio workshops and lectures

The PAP continues to do lectures, workshops and exhibitions in partnership with various institutions.  Among them in recent years, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Art Association of the Philippines, Vargas Museum, Lopez Museum, Ateneo Art Gallery, Yuchengco Museum, de La Salle Museum, University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, Museum Foundation of the Philippines, German Club, Alliance Francaise de Manille and other visual arts organizations.

Publications

Among the publications the PAP has produced  include Limbag Kamay, Sining: Ukit Bato in 1995,  Bakat in 1998, Bakat ng Limbag Sining I and II, all catalogues for major print exhibitions.  It contained apart from the works, substantial and informative essays focusing on the history and current practice of printmaking in Philippine setting.  These publications were disseminated for free to libraries, cultural institutions, schools and arts organizations throughout the country. 

The PAP and its projects have also been featured in magazines, newspapers and other local publications
