Printmaking is the art of producing printed images on paper. It involves a process of transferring an image or design from a plate (a prepared surface) onto paper for the purpose of artistic expression.
Printmaking techniques include woodcut, wood engraving, linocut, etching, metal engraving, collograph, serigraph, and lithograph among others.
